2019 started with Paul working for Scottish Opera, covering in the new opera Anthropocene, after which he was back to London to cover at ENO in Akhnaten, followed by a return trip to Glasgow to work on Tichon in Katya Kabanova.
Highlights in 2018 included Paul's German debut at the Göttingen Handel Festival where he sang the role of Varo in the opera Arminio under the baton of Laurence Cummings. He also presented a solo recital as part of the festival. The recording of the opera is available, and the first night was broadcast live by the German National Broadcaster.
Closer to home, he was delighted to create the role of Percy Lambert in Joanna Lee's new opera - No Sound Ever Dies - a site-specific commission at Brooklands Museum for Surrey Arts. At ENO, Paul covered Ghandi in their acclaimed production of Satyagraha and Naraboth in a new production of Salome.
On the concert stage, recent highlights have included his first performance of Handel's Samson, cond. Laurence Cummings.
